GB Masters, Manchester, 2008

On the first day of the GB Masters Long Course Championships Nick Morgan and Lee Kilby got the Oundle team off to a perfect start finishing first and second in the men’s 35-39 200 IM.

Nicola Latty followed their example by winning the women’s 35-39 100 butterfly while Barry O’Brien easily defended his title in the men’s 50-54 200 breaststroke. Jayne O’Brien won a silver medal in the 200 breaststroke event in the women’s 45-49 age group, finishing ahead of the world bronze medallist.

The success continued on the next two days with Nicola Latty finishing in first in the 35-39 200 butterfly and 400 IM and Barry O’Brien repeating his winning form in the 50-54 100 breaststroke. Lee Kilby, Jayne O’Brien, Nick Morgan and Nicola Latty claimed an array of silver and bronze medals to bring the Oundle medal tally to 6 gold, 8 silver and 1 bronze for the championship.
