Claire Simms Sports Massage


Sports massage is a specific form of massage used to aid recovery from sporting activities and/or injuries. It can also be used to enhance performance when utilised before a sporting event. Sports massage aims to manipulate the soft tissues of the body by using specific and advanced techniques to target particular areas. Sports massage can bring about many physical and mental benefits depending on the purpose of the massage therapy; for example it can: stretch and mobilise tissues, improve flexibility, reduce muscular tension, improve circulation, promote relaxation, relieve pain, reduce stress and prepare the body for proceeding sporting activity.

A sports massage service is now being offered at Rothwell Physiotherapy Centre. The session currently runs once a week; but with the vision to increase the frequency of sessions across the week.

Below is the list of massages (with prices and approximate timings) being offered:
  • Back Massage - 30 minutes - 18
  • Neck & Shoulder Massage - 15 minutes - 8
  • Arm Massage (both arms) - 20 minutes - 10
  • Leg Massage (both legs) - 30 minutes - 16
  • Neck, Shoulder & Arm Massage - 30 minutes - 15
  • Full Body Massage (Including back, legs and arms) - 1 hour - 30
